I ended up getting another female for
Max. She is just a wee nugget and will take some raising up to do, so we'll see how it goes. I will post pictures
as she grows!
At present, Max is 5 years old. I'll
need to raise this girl up before she is even big enough to put with him. We'll see how she does a year
from now but that's a big if. ;) I want to make sure she is fully ready before they go in with him. I might be
hunting for a second female at the October 9th show. We'll see!
Either way, who knows, maybe this time
next year I'll get to cool them down for a good breeding come spring of 2013!
Info on my dragons:
My dragons (and all my omnivorous lizards)
eat a morning salad comprised of healthy greens and veggies rotated weekly for optimal intake of vitamins from different foods.
I do use calcium and multivitamin suppliments as well. My kiddos haev 24/7 access to a separate food dish that has RepCal
Bearded Dragon extruded diet and dish of daily fresh water.
For insects, they receive mealworms and
occasional wax worms as a treat. I do not feed crickets for the reasons of parasite loads often found in crickets.
To be safe, I do monthly fecal exams on all my animals (former veterinary technician, I own a microscope, slides, solution,
etc.) This way I can be 100% sure they are healthy (if anything looks out of the ordinary with behavior, etc, I do a fecal
immediately and then a vet visit).
