About A.R.E.- the woman behind the mischief ;)

Amanda's Code of Ethics

I work hard to keep, breed and provide everyone with the pets that best fit them, what they've been searching for and to maintain a high level of care, customer service and professionalism. My animals are 100% health guaranteed, mite free and personality plus! I will always be straightforward about the personality and attitude of any reptile I have produced... On this note however, please remember that we cannot guarantee the behavior of your new pet. Different homes equal different noise levels, different smells, etc. So there is no for sure way to predict whether your new pet will be stressed when it arrives or not. Handling also makes a huge difference. If your new pet is stressed and shows an unfavorable action, you can't let that keep you from handling or that automatically this is a "bad animal" you've been stuck with. You get to know your pet's personality just like you would with a dog or cat. I will always advise that you give your pet at LEAST a few days to settle in before attempting handling to limit the stress as much as possible. How you treat, handle and house your animal has a lot to do with the attitude. Bottom line, they don't magically go from being sweethearts with us to being the spawn of satan at your house. ;)

Please bare in mind that I DO have the right to refuse sale to anyone who I think does not really seem to be the best home for any of my animals they are inquiring about.

It is a simple right, as a breeder and animal care provider, that I ensure my animals are going to a home that is fully aware of their care and that the new owner be able to fully maintain their new animal for the entire lifespan of that species.

The well-being of my animals is my #1 priority as well as excellent customer service and providing you with a top quality animal.

On that note, if you are new to any given species you are inquiring about, I will be more than happy to aid you in educating yourself on their husbandry to help you decide if this truly is the species for you, or if another is perhaps better for what you're looking for. As an educator, I love to ramble on with people and never hesitate to give my all in answering any questions you may have. No question is silly, so ask me what you want. :)

Once the animal is yours, I am more than happy to answer any questions you may encounter for the life of the animal.  If I don't know something, I will ask reliable sources for information.

For those of you who like to thoroughly check out a new breeder (please always do that! It's the best thing you can do!) I have plenty of references. If you would like to shoot me an email about this, I'll always be more than happy to provide you with references to make sure you feel 100% secure about getting any animals from me.

Our Employees

Does my name sound familiar?

Probably. ;) I do have my first site some of you may know that is my rescue site.

As some of you know, I have been a rescuer for over 20 years now. I have taken in various exotics from every type of furry critter commonly found in the small animal departments of pet stores to birds and reptiles (the only field I'm really lacking in to date is amphibians).

Through those years I've done what I love, endless research on various species so I can learn to better care for them. Through learning to care for them myself, I can therefore help others by educating them based upon the known proper care for these animals as well as adding in my personal experience.

From habitat systems and lighting to diets and behavior, I love to help however I can.

It goes without saying that this would eventually lead me to persue breeding certain species that would best suited as pets.

My rescue site is on the links page here so if you'd like to see what that's all about, feel free to check it out! :)

The Mischief-Maker Herself!

Just me chillin'

day1afterhenna.jpg

Heh. I am the one employee of this operation. Though, on occasion (and moreover with certain smaller species) my loving fiance will be happy to help me when needed or just to play with some of our animals. But I am the one behind the scenes, elbow deep in whatever my animals can conjure up, taking the bites, scratches, tail whips, etc. I am the cage-builder, the food-supplier, the habitat decorator.

I love doing all of this! :)

So you can see why although I have a nice collection building progressively, I do not plan on being a massive breeder. This is a hobby for me and sharing my love of the species I work with. I love doing what I do, working with the animals for all their quirks, blushing personalities and challenges they love to present on occasion. ;D This also means I have more time to work individually with every baby we produce, so you'll receive babies who are accustomed to handling. This makes for great future breeders who are extremely handleable and easy to work with, or awesome pets!

So, it' not so bad being the one woman show after all. ;)
